Interpretation of: Fall, leaves, fall. (Brontë)?

I was wondering if anyone can give a credible interpretation of the poem or decipher its meaning:

'Fall, leaves, fall'

Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;

Lengthen night and shorten day;

Every leaf speaks bliss to me

Fluttering from the autumn tree.

I shall smile when wreaths of snow

Blossom where the rose should grow;

I shall sing when night's decay

Ushers in a drearier day.

Emily Jane Bront?

Interpretation of: Fall, leaves, fall. (Bront?)?
It is a very sad poem - seasons are usually metaphors for the circle of life. In this poem the author looks forward to autumn and longs for winter, which means she longs for death.

"I shall sing when night's decay

Ushers in a drearier day"

Means that she will welcome death.

Do you know when the poem was written? Emily Bronte died from pneumonia when she was 31 - maybe the poem was written around that time?
Reply:i think it's about how fall reminds you of the endless cycle of birth, life and death

and maybe she had a bad summer that year lol
Reply:She longs for winter
