Al Gore & his Nobel Peace Prize - Ironic or what? (Please Read)?

You can check this out on Snopes.com under "The Story of Two Houses".

House #1 A 20 room mansion ( not including 8 bathrooms ) heated by

natural gas. Add on a pool ( and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In one month this residence consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern "snow belt" area. It's in the South.

House #2

Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university. This house incorporates every "green" feature current home construction can provide. The house is 4,000 square feet ( 4 bedrooms ) and is nestled on a high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground.

The water (usually 67 degrees F. ) heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumes one-quarter electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape.

~~~~~
HOUSE #1 is outside of Nashville, Tennessee; it is the abode of
the "environmentalist" Al Gore.
HOUSE #2 is on a ranch near Crawford,
Texas; it is the residence the of the President of the United States,
George W. Bush.
An "inconvenient truth".
Al Gore %26amp; his Nobel Peace Prize - Ironic or what? (Please Read)?
I didn't know that about Bush's house in Crawford. It just proves how big a hypocrite Gore really is. And he's making money by selling his "credit" to lessen your "carbon footprint" what a joke. You have to admit though he has done a good job of marketing himself.
Reply:stop being so hateful toward al gore...he's awesome....and he does everything he advocates in his movie, so there is nothing hypocritical about him.....he never once says everyone should live in a small house......
Reply:Actually, house number one is not outside Nashville. It's IN Nashville, right down the street from me. He's not allowed in my yard.
Reply:Even Bush constantly (in every SOU speech for instance, remember he went on about "switchgrass") mentions the need to do something about what he calls "global climate change", but he does absolutely nothing about it, and he is after all just the President.
As far as the hypocrisy issue, just about every politician is vulnerable, just look at all of the Repub pols who cover themselves in the flag but when they were of age to serve they wanted no part of the military.
Reply:Al Gore's lifestyle is completely unimportant, except as political crap.
Note that Gore shares the Nobel with the IPCC. Together they deserve it, the IPCC for proving that global warming is real, and Gore for making that known to the world.
Great website for unbiased scientific information on global warming:
Reply:Gore does not practice what he preaches!!! He says you should bicycle to work. While he flys all over the place in private jets.
Like most preachy liberals they want to impose on your liberties while justifying why they do not have to abide by their rules.
ie... dont eat meat. while wearing my leather belt.
preaching about a carbon foot print while you fly in private jets and have some frickin giant house.
Reply:Al Gore needs help. Go Bush! Go ahead a give me a thumbs down. Bush Rocks!
Reply:No, do not see the Irony. Whereas Bush's wealth is mostly from OIL.
Reply:the other dood is right i mean bacically our oil is Iraq blood if ya know wat im sayn. Bush srry but EWW!
Reply:Hey, he'll need that 1+ million award to pay his utility and jet fuel bills. It is a very sad day for Sweden and the ethics of the Nobel board --- Amazing what Mr. Soros can buy for his friends. It is amazing how an once honorable institution can whore itself out for money or political expediency. Shame.
Boycott IKEA, SAAB, VOLVO, trips to Sweden anyone?
Reply:Obviously that's something Gore needs to answer for. But it doesn't come close to disproving global warming or negating Gore's work. It's basically just ammunition for people who would rather sweep global warming under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist.
Quick, find a hypocrite! Okay, there we go, now let's ignore the issue for another couple of decades.
Reply:Have you ever spent time in either place? Tennessee is horribly diverse, depending on your elevation. Hot as in most months and colder than anything else. Texas is more moderate except for the climate changes like the intense rainfall this past year?
The ranch is a different house than Bush lived in as Governor of Texas. I believe Gore is in his old residence. Set up properly for a Governor in those days.
Leave Gore alone. He is not running. Besides he won the Nobel peace prize despite false accusations and the rest.
Have a nice day. Stay kool.
