A Year





Autumn breezes with fallen leaves on the ground,

She whispers she loves me, my heart unwound,

I hold her close, can't live without her touch,

She goes to college, leaving me with not much.



Winter arrives, snow breezes and chills my breath,

Without her, the days and nights seem so long,

I hear her voice, wanting to see her today,

I close my eyes and remember yesterday.



Spring comes, the scent of flowers reminds me of her,

They say I shouldn't trust, thoughts of us a blur,

If she's with me in the end, I'll take the chance,

We can stand up to the test, not laying our love to rest.



Summer takes so long to come, waiting for her plane,

Life's empty without her, something I can not explain,

I see her, my heart and soul begins to stir,

The best day of my life, is any day I spend with her.

I think it's really good. I write military fiction, but have a good friend who writes poety so I know what to look for. Personally, I wouldn't change anything. I think your writing is really good.
