What Kind of Flowering Tree is This?

Anyone have any ideas? We are in Washington state and have snow and hard freezes in the winter so it is hardy. It has reached about 15 feet in 5 years from a small sapling.

Do you like my poem?

I will Miss Life

The trees are still growing

Every year it keeps on snowing

The Birds are still flying

But I am dying

The flowers in the ground

The sunshine all around

The holidays I adore

The countries I’ll never explore

The Happy children’s faces

The changing of the places

The vast new technology

Which I will never see

The rising of the dawn

My friends who came to mourn

My treasured memory

My final prayer to thee

If I die before I wake

I pray the lord my soul do take

I really loved it.So sad but so meaningful. It s real the same way I write. It s beautiful and fragile all at once. Thanks for sharing.
Reply:its very basic and follows a very predictable and repetitive rhyming scheme

Reply:It's a tragic beauty! It communicates with the senses exceptionally well, and makes the reader feel like you are feeling...contemplative. Very nice! If the reader draws that much emotion from it, then you are a poet...and I genuinely hope that you know it! Keep on writing! You have the potential and talent to be given great success!

Reply:It`s a nice poem actually.Only ghoulish!Sounded really profound until you mentioned technology. It`s a good style though - juxtaposing happiness and brightness with gloom and doom!

What kind of flowering/non flowering plants can be planted suited to all kinds of season?

I just move to Georgia where there is no snow

What kind of flowering/non flowering plants can be planted suited to all kinds of season?
I live in N.E. Georgia, and it will snow here at least one time this year, we have ice today. In winter we plant Pansies and Viola's for color, they freeze ofcourse below 32 degrees, but they thaw out during the day and they last until we plant summer annuals. We also have ornamental cabbage and kale for color in the landscape. If you live around the N.Fulton or Forsyth county area, Saul Nurseries is a good place to buy from, everything is grown on the property. Nothing better than home grown!!!!!!!
Reply:Wow the list is numorous, your local store should sell what's best for your area. Go to your library, they have all the books.
Reply:Know the local plants and flowers in the area. It is a sure hit for your garden to be suited to all kinds of season.
Reply:Hollies are a great plant. They are dependable, and hardy. They dont flower, but some will get red berries in the winter. The best thing to do would be to go to a local library and check out a plant book, or go to your local Home Depot and take a look at the plants they have on hand. You can usually get a good idea of what will do well in your area at Home Depot. (or a local plant nursery, even better!) Good Luck!
Reply:Camellias are evergreen and bloom winter and very large color selection. Azaleas evergreen and bloom spring at Easter. Indian Hawthorne is evergreen and grows in a mound easy to maintain. Amaryllis bulbs bloom every spring and Lay dormant til next spring and they multiply.
Reply:Try this site: iBtraveling.com and click on the "garden tips" ad on the lower left corner of that site's home page. I've signed up for his newsletter and just love all the thoughts and idea he has about keeping your garden growing...all sorts of stuff.

Wish you luck!

Flowering plant....?

hello all, i wanted to plant a perennial in our plant boxes, is this idea still okey since it is still winter here in our place and snowing once in a while, will the seed going to grow?or i have to keep them away from snow?and keep inside the garage is ok until they fully grown ups?and im planning to plant arabis, columbine and african daisy? please advise me and God bless you and your family.tnx

Flowering plant....?
I don't know where you are, but I certainly wouldn't plant seeds until I was sure the last frost had past. You could start them inside in smaller containers and repot them later outside. I would not trust my garage unless it was heated. Seeds generally won't germinate until the soil is warm, probably 65-70 degrees and that won't happen as long as it is still snowing. If they do germinate and then a frost occurs you will probably will lose your plants unless you have some way to protect them.

So, what would I do. I'd get some smaller pots and start the seeds inside. Then when the weather warmed up, I'd plant them in my planter boxes outside.

Good luck.
Reply:Most seeds germinate best when the weather has stopped freezing. You could get some seed starting mixture and start some in a sunny window if you have one. Next year they will be ok, if they are perennial where you live. I always sell the African Daisy as an annual, it is a bonus if it returns in my climate.
Reply:It is hard to grow perennials in plant boxes. If you can grow it in a container and move it around, it would be ok.

Best time to plant in New Jersey?

I am looking to grow some veggies and herbs and plenty of flowers this upcoming spring and since it has not snowed yet here in NJ i am wondering when the best time to plant is. I have the option of planting inside and then transplating outside as well!

thank you for your help

Best time to plant in New Jersey?
Check with local nursery for advice on what to plant in the fall for spring blooms and what to plant in the spring after last frost for showy summer into fall blooms. Herbs can be grown year round indoors by a sunny window and moved outdoors later in the spring. Veggies will have to be geminated early spring indoors and transplanted or you can buy ready to plant veggies at the nursery in the spring. It really all depends on how green your thumb is.
Reply:Gardening is such a vast subject, it can often be confusing to the new gardener where to start.

obviously, It depends on what kind of plants ur planning to grow.

For most vegetables, I would prefer to plant them at a well-drained, level, sheltered, slightly limey, sunny position.

and that would be on early spring (March?) or mid spring (April).

If you want to plant inside, try to u can do it from late Feb. but u should pay attention to the requirements (more sunlight + well-draing soil).

I wish that makes sense
